Issues is an American metalcore band founded in 2012 in Atlanta, Georgia, and consisting of guitarist and vocalist AJ Rebollo, bassist Skyler Acord, and drummer Josh Manuel. Their music combines elements of metalcore, nu metal and pop with contemporary R&B, and the band has appeared at several major festivals.
The band’s name comes from the fact that they believe there are many different problems that the world faces, which are collectively referred to as “issues.” In the past, people have used the term to describe the things that make up the entirety of a person or a situation: A politician with a lot of conflicts may be said to have a lot of issues. A person with an unruly attitude at work may be deemed to have anger management issues, and so on.
In general, a majority of Americans say that the affordability of health care and drug addiction are very big problems for the country today. However, significantly smaller shares say this about illegal immigration, the budget deficit and terrorism. Across most demographic groups, older adults are more likely than younger ones to view these issues as very big problems.
Around the world, children face issues that affect their lives every day, including poverty and lack of access to education, adequate healthcare and water and sanitation. These problems can lead to malnutrition, disease and death, and a lack of opportunity and equality. One of the most significant challenges in this area is sub-Saharan Africa, which has the highest child mortality rate and HIV infection among children, and one of the lowest literacy rates in the world.
